Our Maltese case study leader, The Energy and Water Agency was more than excited to welcome key stakeholders to a second meeting!
This 2-days event focused on the topic of engagement. EWA’s aims to develop a strategy to enhance stakeholder engagement mechanisms in the Malta case study.
The workshop featured keynote speakers from the digital world who shared insights into modern engagement techniques. Frank Zammit, a local radio station manager, emphasised the “less is more” principle in social media marketing, urging effective targeting of the audience.
Nikolai Smith from the Adelphi Research Centre discussed innovative tools for stakeholder engagement through the Retouch Nexus Project.
Numerous distinguished stakeholders from NGOs and public bodies from different areas of Maltese society attended this meeting, which took place on May 28-29, 2024.
Manuel Sapiano, CEO of the Energy and Water Agency, highlighted the importance of engaging underrepresented communities, ensuring their needs are met in public sector messaging.
A special focus was placed on innovative tools for stakeholder engagement and public participation, audience targeting, and strategic messaging for different social groups. Some fascinating keynote speakers provided insights and led breakout sessions on these topics, which allowed participants to put these tools to the test during the workshops.
The second Stakeholder Engagement Workshop, organized by EWA as part of the RETOUCH NEXUS project, successfully united diverse stakeholders to advance strategies for effective engagement in the Malta case study. Through insightful keynote presentations and interactive sessions, participants gained valuable tools and techniques for enhancing accessibility, tailoring messages, and fostering collaboration. Key speakers, including experts in digital marketing, public relations, and community engagement, emphasized innovative approaches to reaching underrepresented groups and aligning strategies with societal needs.
The hands-on group activities on the second day allowed attendees to apply these methods to real-world challenges, solidifying their understanding and promoting actionable outcomes.
By creating a platform for shared learning and collaboration, the workshop marked a significant step toward improving stakeholder communication and ensuring inclusive participation.
