The EXCELLENTIA Mentoring Program<\/a><\/span><\/strong> Workshop organised by the NEXUS Net COST Action at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki<\/span><\/strong><\/a> gathered more than 60 of Europe’s most promising young researchers and innovators, and senior researchers<\/span><\/span> to present innovative solutions to global challenges. Dr. Maria Vrachioli from the Technical University of Munich, coordinator of the RETOUCH NEXUS Project, provided key insights on improving water resilience through better water governance.<\/h3>\n

She underscored the urgent need for improved policies and frameworks that can adapt to the complexities of the Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystems (WEFE) nexus, emphasizing that better water governance is key to safeguarding resources and enhancing global water security<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span> Experts like Prof. Jos\u00e9 Gonz\u00e1lez Piqueras<\/strong> from Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, Prof. Chrysi Laspidou<\/strong> from the University of Thessaly, and Dr. Alexandra Spyropoulou<\/strong> from the University of Thessaly shared groundbreaking research on topics ranging from biodiversity to air pollution mitigation.<\/p>\n

Each presentation delved into the critical intersections between water, energy, food, transport, and health systems, offering participants a holistic view of how NEXUS-based approaches can drive systemic solutions for climate resilience.<\/p>\n
